A few years ago, I became interested in sewing because I wanted to create and adapt clothes I couldn’t find in stores. I started learning little by little, simply for the joy of making something with my own hands.

Everything changed while helping my boyfriend clear out his wardrobe. Just before donating a bag of clothes, one shirt caught my eye. I decided to keep it and transform it into something completely different.

When a friend saw the finished piece, she encouraged me to take part in a local makers’ market. I said yes, even though I had very little time to prepare.

That single shirt became the starting point for a small collection. I spent the following weeks sourcing shirts and transforming them one by one, creating enough pieces for my very first market.

It was the happiest I had ever felt creating something with my own hands. Every finished piece brought the same feeling: excitement, satisfaction and the desire to keep creating.

Today, every Gutovi piece is handmade in Spain from carefully selected garments, giving beautiful fabrics a second life and creating one-of-a-kind pieces designed to be worn and loved.
